Yuriy Vinokurov, First Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, held a working meeting with Ms. Begonia Cordova Birat, First Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Resilience at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in Ukraine, Senior Advisor on Community-Based Protection at UNHCR, Ms. Pauline Hilmi, and representatives of the UNHCR sub-office in Dnipro.

Representatives of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration and Igor Novak, Director of the municipal enterprise “Voda Donbassa,” also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the humanitarian, security, and environmental situation in the Donetsk region, the status of population evacuations, and the region’s current needs regarding water supply and support for internally displaced persons.

Opening the meeting, Yuriy Vinokurov thanked international partners for their unwavering support of the Donetsk region.

“Thank you for your latest visit and your unwavering support for the Donetsk region. This demonstrates the enduring partnership on the part of the UNHCR team. The situation in the region remains extremely challenging. Our key priorities are ensuring water supply, supporting internally displaced persons, and ensuring the proper functioning of temporary shelters. It is very important for us to feel the support of our international partners and to work together on solutions that will help people,” said Yuriy Vinokurov.

Following the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their readiness for further cooperation aimed at supporting the residents of Donetsk Oblast, who continue to live amid full-scale war, as well as at implementing joint humanitarian initiatives in the region.
