On 31 July, a meeting was held of the regional commission responsible for identifying enterprises, institutions and organisations that are critical to the functioning of the economy and to ensuring the livelihoods of the population during this exceptional period in the Donetsk region.
The meeting was chaired by Ihor Boiko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and Chair of the commission. Members of the commission and representatives of the relevant departments of the regional state administration took part in the proceedings.
The participants reviewed the documentation of 50 enterprises that had previously been granted the status of critically important and are required to confirm their compliance with the updated legal requirements. These include healthcare facilities, utility and social services, as well as industrial, agricultural, transport and other enterprises, on whose operations the provision of the basic needs of the region’s residents depends.
The submitted materials had been preliminarily reviewed by the relevant departments in their respective areas of responsibility. During the meeting, the commission verified compliance with the established criteria, in particular the enterprises’ performance indicators, wage levels and the significance of their work for the economy and the functioning of local communities.
Following the review, a decision was taken to recommend that the status be confirmed for those enterprises whose documents meet the established requirements.
Separately, the commission members considered requests from three critically important enterprises regarding changes to the quotas for the conscription of employees liable for military service. Decisions were taken with due regard to the need to retain the specialists required for the uninterrupted operation of institutions and enterprises under martial law.
The commission’s work will continue in accordance with the timetable set by the Government. The main priority remains ensuring the stable operation of key services, enterprises and institutions that support the functioning of the Donetsk region.
