On June 12, business representatives from Donetsk region took part in another online discussion on the topic “Information security: Differentiating concepts and protecting corporate digital resources.”
The regional platform “Dialogue between Government and Business” was created on the instructions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to quickly resolve current issues faced by entrepreneurs.
Information security in times of war is an important component of our country's national security.
This issue affects all areas, including business, which seeks to protect its own interests and secure information about its activities from illegal actions.
Volodymyr Bilokopyt, head of the Department of Informatization and Digitalization of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, told entrepreneurs in Donetsk region about the various components of information protection and effective methods of work in this area.
Currently, a significant amount of data protection in the digital world falls under IT security and cybersecurity. Entrepreneurs learned how to build a robust information security system in accordance with international standards. These criteria also affect the competitiveness of enterprises when participating in tenders and the image of companies in the market, as well as their rating among customers who pay significant attention to risk management.
With regard to working with social networks and their growing role in doing business, entrepreneurs were explained how to avoid undesirable consequences associated with phishing, account hacking, fake complaints, deepfakes, spam, etc.
Regular training of employees in digital security methods and continuous development of information protection strategies are now of paramount importance for entrepreneurs, as risks are constantly growing and new complex situations are emerging that directly affect global and local markets.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs also received answers to questions about existing cases of digital security breaches and methods of countering them.
