Entrepreneurs in Donetsk region were explained the mechanisms for protecting businesses in wartime

Published 05 February 2026 year, 17:02

On February 5, 2026, within the framework of the regional platform "Dialogue between Government and Business," created on the instructions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an online meeting was held on the topic: "Force majeure as a tool to protect your business. Hardship as an alternative to force majeure for changing or terminating contracts."

The event was attended by over 80 representatives of businesses and government agencies in the Donetsk region.

During the meeting, Yana Bratchenko, head of the legal department of the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, explained the legal mechanisms that businesses can use under martial law.

In particular, they discussed the procedure for applying force majeure circumstances, confirming their existence, and the instrument of hardship as an alternative for changing or terminating contractual obligations in the event of a significant change in circumstances.

Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and receive practical explanations on protecting their rights and minimizing risks in contractual relationships.

Holding such events within the framework of the "Dialogue between Government and Business" platform contributes to supporting entrepreneurs in Donetsk Oblast and forming effective interaction between government and business in conditions of military challenges.
