On June 19, business representatives from Donetsk region took part in another online discussion on the topic “Ukrgasbank. Experience in financing business in wartime.”
The regional platform “Dialogue between Government and Business” was created on the instructions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to quickly resolve current issues facing entrepreneurs.
Despite the hostilities, entrepreneurs continue to receive assistance from the banking sector. Financial institutions support businesses in high-risk conditions, as explained during the meeting by Dmytro Krot, Deputy Director for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses at the Eastern Regional Directorate of Ukrgasbank.
"In 2024, Ukrgasbank provided four loans totaling 6 million hryvnia to businesses in Donetsk Oblast, while applications for loans totaling approximately 40 million hryvnia were in process. In 2025, loans totaling 41 million hryvnia have already been provided in the high military risk zone. We also have loan applications totaling about 100 million hryvnia in the pipeline.
Support is provided for the purpose of developing enterprises, purchasing fixed assets, equipment, including special equipment, acquiring real estate, and so on. In 2024-25, Ukrgasbank financed support for construction companies, farmers, and businesses in the trade sector. Some enterprises needed assistance in recovering after relocation," emphasized Dmytro Krot.
Business representatives were also informed about the conditions for providing credit support, as well as factors that could influence the refusal to grant a loan.
The meeting participants addressed the representative of the banking institution with questions about the opportunities and factors that would facilitate business lending.
The “Dialogue between Government and Business” platform continues to meet with the aim of establishing effective cooperation and supporting business in Donetsk Oblast in the context of the war.
