The Ivan Karabits Bakhmut College of Culture and Arts continues to implement educational and artistic projects despite the challenges of wartime. As part of the activities of the “Regional School of Pedagogical Excellence,” the regional review-competition “Bakhmut Spring – 2026” has been underway for the fifth consecutive week.
On April 4, 2026, auditions were held in the categories “Pop Singing” and “Classical Singing.” The event brought together 76 leading young performers from the Donetsk and Khmelnytskyi regions. The Donetsk region was represented at a high level by students from art schools in the following cities:
• Mirnograd, Kurakhove, Selidovo;
• Pokrovsk, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk;
• Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Chasiv Yar;
• Dobropillia and Sloviansk.
The contestants demonstrated a high level of performance skill, mastery of vocal technique, and depth of interpretation of classical and contemporary repertoire. The program covered a wide range of works—from complex academic pieces to contemporary pop songs.
A highly qualified jury, comprising leading educators, provided professional evaluation of the performances. The experts noted the participants’ thorough preparation, which confirms the continuity of the traditions of the Ukrainian vocal school and the effective work of the teaching staff.
