Forced displacement caused by the war has become a serious challenge for thousands of residents of Donetsk Oblast. Losing their homes, familiar surroundings, and jobs has compelled people to seek new footing in other regions of the country. In these circumstances, accessible and professional support is especially important — support that helps not only to navigate new realities but also to restore economic independence. This is precisely the role played today by specialists of the Donetsk regional employment service who work in hubs for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Currently, nearly a hundred such hubs operate across Ukraine — in safer regions where a large number of displaced people have settled. They have become points of Donetsk Oblast’s constant presence outside the region — spaces where people can receive essential consultations and feel the support of “their own.”
Employment service specialists from Donetsk Oblast working in these hubs provide a full range of services for IDPs. These include individual consultations on job search, подбор of relevant vacancies in the host region or with opportunities for remote employment. Special attention is given to opportunities for vocational training, retraining, and skills upgrading, including through training vouchers, which enable people to adapt to the needs of local labor markets.
The work of our specialists in hubs across the country, the flexibility of services, and a people-centered approach ensure access to employment service support for IDPs regardless of where they are located.
Over the past year, nearly 15,000 displaced persons who applied to the hubs received consultations from Donetsk employment service specialists on employment opportunities, current vacancies, training options, and career development.
Live communication and a deep understanding of what Donetsk Oblast and its people have endured help employment service specialists — many of whom are also internally displaced — provide support with particular sincerity and attentive consideration of each person’s life circumstances.
