To support businesses in difficult conditions and promote employment among people forced to flee their homes, the Ukrainian government has introduced financial incentives for employers who hire internally displaced persons (IDPs).
One such incentive is the reimbursement of employers’ wage expenses when hiring registered unemployed individuals from among IDPs under fixed-term employment contracts. The procedure and conditions for providing this compensation are defined by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 696: https://bit.ly/3TngkN7.
An employer is eligible for this compensation if they hire registered unemployed IDPs through referral by the employment center under a fixed-term employment contract. The state reimburses the actual wage costs for the hired employee and the amount of the unified social contribution paid for them. The compensation amount for each odd month of employment starts from 9,760 UAH.
To receive the payment, an employer must submit an application to the employment center within two months from the date of employment of the IDP.
