On December 17, Director of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center Nataliia Adamova met with employers in the region who actively use state support programs and employ internally displaced persons (IDPs).

One example of effective use of state support instruments is entrepreneur Yehor Tkachov, who works in Sloviansk in the event organization sector. Last year, he received a microgrant under the “Own Business” program, which made it possible to expand the range of services and strengthen the business’s material and technical base. An important condition of the grant program was the creation of new jobs—and this requirement was fulfilled. Two unemployed IDPs joined the team and were employed as couriers.

According to Yehor Tkachov, such state support not only reduces the financial burden on businesses but also motivates employers to take an active role in addressing the social challenges caused by the war.

Another example of cooperation is the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Regional Clinical Psychiatric Hospital of Sloviansk.” Over the year, within the wage compensation program, nine internally displaced persons were employed at the medical institution. Special attention is also paid to inclusion: a workplace was created for an employee with a Group II disability, with compensation for the costs of workplace adaptation. Hospital staff also had the opportunity to improve their professional skills by receiving training vouchers.

“The employer compensation program for hiring IDPs helps solve several tasks at once: supporting businesses in difficult conditions, reducing unemployment among displaced persons, and strengthening social cohesion in communities that work and live under wartime conditions,” Nataliia Adamova emphasized.
