Due to the full-scale war, Ilona and her family moved from her hometown of Popasna in the Luhansk region to Pavlohrad. Finding a job in a new city became a difficult challenge — especially considering that she is raising two minor children.
Despite having a higher education degree in psychology, experience working in government institutions, and skills in remote employment, Ilona lost her job at the end of last year. However, she did not postpone looking for new opportunities and immediately turned to the Kramatorsk branch of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center.
Employment service specialists helped her update her resume, identify her competitive advantages, and select vacancies that matched her professional experience and life circumstances. Special attention was paid to remote employment opportunities — a critically important factor for Ilona as a mother of two children.
A key step on her path to employment was improving her digital competencies. Ilona completed short-term training under the program “Digital Skills — Keys to Online Opportunities” at one of the vocational education centers of the State Employment Service. The knowledge she gained allowed her to use modern online tools more confidently, significantly increasing her competitiveness in the labor market.
At the end of March, a suitable vacancy appeared — a civil service specialist position at the Hirska City Military Administration of the Sievierodonetsk district in the Luhansk region, with the possibility of remote work. The offer fully matched Ilona’s professional profile and life needs.
Ilona successfully passed the selection process and was employed. Today, she works remotely, combining her professional duties with caring for her children.
