On May 8, at a joint meeting of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Health and the Donetsk Center for Disease Control and Prevention, attended by representatives of healthcare facilities in the Donetsk region and branches of the State Institution “Donetsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health,” the results of the regional competition “Vaccination Unites Donetsk Region” were announced.
Specialists from healthcare and vocational education institutions, as well as branches of the State Institution “DONETSK CCPD of the Ministry of Health,” participated in the competition. The competition entries were dedicated to promoting preventive vaccinations, building trust in vaccination, combating myths, and disseminating evidence-based information among the population.
The meeting noted the high quality of the materials, the participants’ creative approach, the relevance of the topics, and the practical focus of the entries. Evaluation was based on criteria including the evidence-based nature of the information, accessibility to the target audience, design, structure of the material presentation, and addressing issues of distrust toward vaccination.
Based on the evaluation results among healthcare facilities and vocational education institutions, first place went to Outpatient Clinic No. 6 of the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Sloviansk City Center for Primary Health Care,” second place to the Municipal Institution “Kostiantynivka Medical Vocational College,” and third place went to the joint entry by the “Velykonovosilkovsky Center for Primary Health Care” and the Mariinsky Branch of the “Donetsk Regional Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health.”
Among the branches of the State Institution “Donetsk Regional Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health,” the Toretsk branch emerged as the winner, having submitted two entries that achieved the highest scores. Second place went to the Mariinka branch, while third place was shared by the Kramatorsk District and Sloviansk branches.
Separately, the jury recognized the most active and creative participants in the competition. The Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise “Sloviansk City Center for Primary Health Care” received an award for the most active participation, having submitted six entries in three categories. The Dobropillia Branch of the State Institution “DONETSK REGIONAL CENTER FOR PUBLIC HEALTH OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH” was recognized for its creative approach and innovation for an interactive online game and a themed fairy tale about vaccination.
The contest was an important part of the events held during European and World Immunization Weeks 2026 and helped raise public awareness of the importance of preventive vaccinations, support communication initiatives in the field of immunoprophylaxis, and facilitate the exchange of best practices among institutions in the region.
Congratulations to the winners of the “Vaccination Unites Donetsk Region” contest!
