At the 2026 European Para Swimming Championships, held in Kocaeli, Turkey, the Ukrainian national team was represented by 41 para swimmers. The Ukrainian team demonstrated a high level of preparation and won numerous awards on the European stage.
One of the main stars of the Ukrainian national team was Veronika Korzhova—a para-swimmer from the Soledar community—who delivered a brilliant performance and won 5 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
One of her most notable achievements was her performance in the 100-meter backstroke. In the preliminaries, Veronika set a European record, and in the final, she surpassed her own time and set a new world record.
The athlete competed in the S7 and SB6 classes and also participated in mixed relays, demonstrating a high level of skill, endurance, and athletic conditioning.
These results are a testament to Veronika’s hard work, her strength of character, her determination, and her unbreakable will to win.
Veronika Korzhova is the pride of the Soledar community and of Ukraine! Her athletic success proves once again that talent, daily hard work, and belief in oneself help achieve the highest results.
