Alimony Payments Have Started: Do You Need to Notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine?

Published 06 August 2026 year, 19:23

I receive state social assistance for children whose parent is avoiding child support payments. Alimony payments have now begun. Do I need to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine, or will the assistance be discontinued automatically?

Yes, you must notify the Pension Fund.

If a recipient of state social assistance for a child whose parent has been avoiding child support payments begins receiving alimony, they are required to notify the Pension Fund of Ukraine office responsible for administering the benefit within 10 calendar days.

Once the Pension Fund receives information that alimony payments have begun, the state social assistance will be discontinued from the first day of the month following the month in which the alimony was received.

If alimony payments are discontinued in the future, the recipient has the right to apply again to the Pension Fund of Ukraine to have the state social assistance reinstated.

For more information about the conditions for granting and paying temporary state assistance to children whose parents avoid paying child support, are unable to support the child, or whose whereabouts are unknown, please follow the provided link.
