As part of the third wave of the national project "Side by Side: Cohesive Communities," the Pokrovske urban community signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Uman urban community.
The signing took place on September 23 during a meeting of representatives of the communities of Donetsk Oblast at the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
The document, which was signed by Serhiy Dobriak, Head of Pokrovsk MVA, and Iryna Pletneva, Head of Uman City Council, envisages partnership cooperation to support the outpost community, overcome the consequences of armed aggression, implement humanitarian, educational and cultural initiatives, and restore infrastructure.
A separate area of cooperation is support for IDPs, from organizing evacuation and accommodation of the population to social adaptation, medical and psychological assistance, as well as assistance in relocating businesses.
"I am sincerely grateful to the partner communities that have extended a helping hand to us since the first days of the full-scale invasion. They welcomed our residents who sought refuge from the war; helped with the construction of fortifications, and provided materials to eliminate the consequences of shelling. The Muscovites are trying to divide Ukrainians and break our unity, but we are resisting side by side. And the project "Side by Side: United Communities" is the link that strengthens our resistance. After all, it is by uniting and helping each other that we will be able to stop and defeat the enemy," said Serhiy Dobriak.
For Pokrovsk, Uman has become the fifth partner in the project. Earlier, cooperation was launched with the communities of Sheptytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhovkva, and Khust.
