Leaving her home because of the war, settling into life in a new city, looking for a job all over again… Professional experience, perseverance, and support from experts helped Oksana Fedenko from Krasnohorivka move forward.
Oksana moved from the Donetsk region to Dnipro. She has over 30 years of experience as an accountant. Before the war, she worked at a local hospital, and after moving, she spent nearly two years working at an educational institution in Dnipro.
When that job ended, Oksana once again found herself needing to look for work. The “Experience Matters” project for people aged 50+ opened up new opportunities for her. She decided to take advantage of the chance to expand her knowledge and chose the “Digital Skills and AI” training course. After all, even with substantial professional experience, it’s important to stay open to new things.
And the opportunity didn’t take long to come! Following a job search, Oksana was offered an accounting position at a medical facility in Dnipro. Recruiters from the employment service arranged an interview with the employer, during which she discussed her experience and demonstrated her professional knowledge.
The employer recognized the candidate’s competence and offered her an internship. Oksana successfully completed her tasks and proved that her knowledge and skills were valuable to the team. After completing her internship, she began working at the Dnipro Primary Health Care Center No. 9 of the Dnipro City Council.
Ahead of her lie new work tasks, getting to know her colleagues, and another chapter in her professional life. And most importantly—the confidence that her experience is valued and that she can make a difference in her new role.
