As part of the “Sich of the Unbreakable” training program the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren organized hands-on tourism activities for 70 children from the Kurakhiv territorial community and 20 students from other communities in the Donetsk region who were attending a camp at the “Emerald City” Sanatorium and Health Center for Social Rehabilitation.
The educational and practical program included archery and crossbow shooting, micro-orienteering, learning how to tie camping knots, and painting patriotic wooden crafts. A key component of the event was a real-terrain orienteering challenge involving the use of a sports map and the search for checkpoints, which allowed participants to put into practice skills that, due to the security situation, had previously been learned primarily online.
The “Sich of the Unbreakable” initiative aims to promote national and patriotic education, team building, a healthy lifestyle, and the development of the tourism and local history movement in the Donetsk region.
