A flag from Kramatorsk, damaged by Russian strikes, will be given a new lease on life. Plans are in place to transform it into an art installation, with proceeds from its sale going toward the purchase of drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Recently, Oleksandr Goncharenko, head of the Kramatorsk City Military Administration, handed over to soldiers of the 39th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion a flag that had been damaged on the eve of Ukraine’s National Flag Day. The military decided to use this very flag to create a series of art installations as part of the charity project “A Thousand Drones of Vengeance.”
This flag, which once flew from the main flagpole of the Donetsk region in Kramatorsk, is one of the largest flags of its kind in Ukraine. Russian drones attempted to destroy it, but now this damaged national symbol will become part of an effort aimed at strengthening our defenders.
The art pieces created from it are planned to be put up for a charity auction in the United Kingdom. The funds raised will be used to purchase unmanned aerial systems that will help the Ukrainian military destroy enemy equipment and personnel.
The initiative by soldiers of the 39th Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion is supported by volunteers from the “Birds of Victory” charity project and Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
Thus, the enemy’s attempt to destroy the Ukrainian flag is turning into an opportunity to purchase weapons to fight the aggressor. The symbol that embodies our nation will continue to help bring us closer to Victory.
