On December 10, International Human Rights Day, a regional human rights forum was held in Dnipro on the topic "Human Rights and Regional Security: Finding Balance in the Face of Military Challenges."

The forum brought together representatives of state institutions, law enforcement agencies, and the civil society sector to discuss challenges in the field of human rights and regional security during wartime, in particular issues related to the evacuation of the population, with the aim of developing common approaches to ensuring a balance between human rights and security needs.

Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech: "Such meetings are of particular significance for Donetsk region. Our region is a territory where human rights are most severely tested by war, and the need for effective solutions and real support is paramount. That is why dialogue, cooperation, and the exchange of experience between regions help to better understand people's needs and find more effective formats for assistance."

The forum was held with the support of the Human Rights for Ukraine, Phase II project, which is implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Human rights remain the foundation of the state even in the most difficult times. The Donetsk Regional State Administration will continue to work on strengthening the human rights protection system, as this is an important step towards a secure and restored Ukraine in the future.
