Representatives of Donetsk region joined strategic consultations on the development of Regional Action Plans 1325

On January 15, 2026, representatives of Donetsk region took part in strategic consultations on the development of Regional Action Plans to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace, Security” for the period until 2030.

Donetsk region was represented at the event by specialists from the Department of Family, Youth and Mass Events of National and Patriotic Education of the Donetsk Regional State Administration together with representatives of the Coalition of Public Organizations 1325 Donetsk Region.

The event was organized by the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy together with the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine with the support of the Ukrainian Women's Fund. Its goal was to form a common vision of approaches to the development of regional action plans 1325, strengthen interdepartmental cooperation and take into account the regional context.

During the opening of the event, the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko emphasized: “Regional Action Plans are a key tool for implementing the Women, Peace, Security agenda on the ground. It is at the regional level that it is determined how effective the National Action Plan will be, how sensitive it will be to the needs of communities, and how capable it will be of responding to the challenges of wartime.”

At the same time, the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine Lyudmila Shemelynets drew attention to the importance of the practical focus of regional action plans, the need for their resource provision and systematic interaction between executive authorities and the public sector for the effective implementation of the measures envisaged by the National Action Plan.

During the event, the participants worked out approaches to forming a draft of the next Regional Action Plan, which envisages the implementation of the strategic goals of the National Action Plan to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1325 for the period until 2030.

Special attention was paid to practical training in the localization of the National Action Plan at the regional level. During group work, participants developed proposals for measures that could be included in regional and local action plans, discussed coordination mechanisms between government bodies and the public sector, as well as approaches to monitoring the implementation of measures.
