Community representatives from the Donetsk region discussed current issues related to education and social support

On October 8, a seminar was held with representatives of district and local military administrations in Donetsk Oblast to discuss the specifics of bringing the charters of general secondary education institutions into compliance with the Regulations on Lyceums.  More than 200 specialists participated in the seminar.

The event also addressed the following issues:

  • psychological support for students and teachers under martial law;
  • ensuring the reclassification (change in type) of a community’s general secondary education institution (GSEI) to implement educational reform by 2027;
  • uncertainty regarding educational pathways and the lack of clarification on the continuation of education for 9th-grade graduates in the 2026–2027 school year;
  • specifics of providing services to internally displaced persons, war veterans, military personnel, and their family members; 
  • current changes to environmental protection legislation, and the removal of hazardous, dead, and damaged trees and shrubs;
  • organizing and conducting the All-Ukrainian campaign “16 Days Against Violence”;
  • the social adaptation of war veterans and their family members;
  • the implementation of social manager activities within the community, in accordance with Resolution No. 64 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated January 14, 2026, “Certain Issues Regarding the Organization of Social Services”;
  • an overview of legislation related to museum operations.

The seminar was organized and conducted by the Regional State Administration’s Department for Coordination with Local Self-Government Bodies, in collaboration with relevant departments of the Regional State Administration, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast, and the State Environmental Inspection in Donetsk Oblast.

During the seminar, participants acquired new skills and knowledge, actively participated in discussions of reports and presentations, and shared their suggestions regarding topics for future meetings.
