On March 12, a meeting was held with veterans, military personnel, and family members of fallen (deceased) defenders from the Soledar municipal community.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the regional administration's department for veteran policy, the Bakhmut district administration's department for veteran policy, and the Council of Families of the Fallen at the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
- The program of social support for war veterans, defenders of Ukraine from among the residents of the Soledar city territorial community who participated (are participating) in the defense of the country, their families, and family members of those killed (deceased) or missing under special circumstances in this category for 2026-2028;
- Priority preferential health care for children of combatants/children of missing, deceased defenders of Ukraine in health and recreation facilities;
- The functioning of a unified digital platform for veterans, female veterans, and their family members – Veteran PRO.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to housing issues for veterans and families of deceased defenders of Ukraine. In particular, they discussed mechanisms for providing housing and receiving compensation in accordance with Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 719 and No. 1176, as well as the possibility of purchasing housing under the "єОселя" program. The meeting participants received explanations regarding the conditions for participation in these programs and the procedure for obtaining the relevant state support.
They also noted that experimental projects are being implemented at the state level for war veterans to provide adaptation services, long-term medical care, correction of scarring of the skin after injuries and burns, and capacity building for those who have completely or partially lost their sight.
