On August 27, a meeting was held with war veterans and their family members from the Mariupol city community, attended by representatives of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast, the Regional Employment Center, and the Council of War Veterans under the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The following issues were discussed:
- the provision of state and additional social guarantees funded by the regional and local budgets;
- the city’s targeted program “Mariupol Respects You” to support war veterans, their family members, family members of deceased war veterans, and family members of deceased Defenders of Ukraine;
- opportunities provided by the employment service for job search and professional development;
- a one-time cash payment on Ukraine’s Independence Day to war veterans and certain other categories of citizens.
Inna Starostina, Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Division for Monitoring and Implementation of Veterans’ Programs within the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, spoke about state housing programs and support programs implemented at the regional level.
