Representative of the Dobropil Youth Council — finalist in the national Reporter competition

Published 10 January 2026 year, 09:40

Daria Bodrova, representative of the Dobropil Territorial Community Youth Council, became a finalist in the national Reporter competition for student videos. Her work was among the 50 best out of more than 150 videos submitted by participants from all over Ukraine.

In her video, Daria told the story of a teacher from Dobropillia — a representative of conscious youth who combines distance learning for children with active volunteer work.

“The main character is an example of progressive and enterprising youth who, even in times of war, finds the strength to teach, develop, and help others. She demonstrates that it is active young people who are shaping the future of the community and the country today. I immediately realized that I wanted to make a story about this, even though I had never done it before,” the author shares.

The entries submitted to the competition focused on the experiences of young people during the war — their dreams, education, volunteering, and the strength of their generation; stories of women who are holding down the fort; culture as a source of support and resilience; and media literacy — the ability to distinguish facts from manipulation and form one's own attitude toward current events.

The Reporter competition is part of the Filter National Media Literacy Project of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, supported and co-financed by the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Project “Protecting Freedom of Expression and Media Freedom in Ukraine — Phase II,” in partnership with OSCE Projects in Ukraine, Public Broadcasting, and the School of Journalism and Media Communications at the Ukrainian Catholic University.

The fact that the work of a representative of our region has received such high recognition confirms that Donetsk Oblast is rich in talented, enterprising, and conscious young people who are not afraid to pick up a camera and talk about important issues!
