World Cleanup Day is an officially recognized United Nations Day and is included in the international calendar. It is one of the largest global environmental initiatives, bringing together more than 139 million participants in 212 countries and territories around the world to foster a culture of cleanliness, responsible waste management, sustainable consumption, and care for the environment.
In Ukraine, activities as part of World Cleanup Day 2026 will take place from August 20 to September 20, 2026, taking into account the conditions of martial law, security restrictions, and the specific characteristics of each region.
The event is organized by the non-governmental organization “All-Ukrainian Youth Movement ‘Let’s Do It Ukraine’” in collaboration with the international movement Let’s Do It World, with the support of state and local government authorities, civil society organizations, businesses, educational institutions, the media, international partners, and thousands of volunteers.
The goal of World Cleanup Day is to foster an environmental culture and responsible waste management, develop the volunteer movement, strengthen civic responsibility, promote the principles of sustainable development and the circular economy, and engage citizens in practical actions to restore the environment.
World Cleanup Day is traditionally joined by civil society organizations, state and local government bodies, enterprises, businesses, educational institutions, the media, young people, volunteers, public figures, international partners, and all concerned citizens.
