Today, Ukraine celebrates Crimean Tatar Flag Day. This is a day to honor not just a symbol; today, we honor all the brave sons and daughters of the Crimean people who fought and continue to fight for their freedom and the freedom of the Ukrainian state.
Crimea has been occupied by the enemy for 11 years. The Crimean Tatars have been deprived of their land, their native language and self-government bodies have been banned, and their culture is being destroyed. Donetsk region, like no other, understands the tragedy that the Crimean Tatars are currently experiencing.
The people of Donetsk and Crimea are fighting side by side with the enemy for our freedom, our common free state. And I am grateful to everyone who continues this struggle. That is why the Crimean Tatar flag is flying today in Donetsk.
I am confident that it will fly again in a free Crimea!
Glory to our Crimean Tatar brothers! Glory to Ukraine!
