"In daily operational updates, we are accustomed to seeing the consequences of shelling—and behind these numbers, it is easy to forget to say the most important thing: thank you to those who go to save people after every attack.
Today, on Rescuer's Day, I want to say this aloud.
In Donetsk Oblast, you work among destroyed buildings, under the constant threat of repeat strikes, alongside people for whom your arrival means a chance at survival. Hundreds of our fellow residents are alive today because you were there on time and did everything possible.
Over the years of war, Donetsk Oblast has also lost rescuers. Today, we remember with special gratitude and pain those who died in the line of duty. They will be remembered by those they saved, their colleagues, their loved ones, and our entire region.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank each of you for your service, resilience, and humanity.
I wish you quiet shifts, reliable equipment, and the single most important thing—always returning home.
Happy Rescuer's Day!"
