Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Maksym Rylsky Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The award is presented annually to writers and poets for their significant contribution to the development of translation. The deadline for submitting applications is November 1, 2026.
The competition features two categories:
- translations into Ukrainian of works by prominent foreign authors;
- translations of works by Ukrainian classics and contemporary authors into the languages of the world.
Requirements for works: New, original works published in their final form within the last three years, but no later than six months prior to the date of their nomination, are eligible for the Award.
Who May Nominate Candidates: Proposals for nominees may be submitted by creative unions, national-cultural and national-educational societies, publishing houses and publishing organizations, editorial boards of periodicals, academic councils of higher education institutions, scientific institutions, and associations.
