Today marked the first regional stage of the 2026 All-Ukrainian "WorldSkills Ukraine" Professional Skills Competition in the "Welding" category.
Yulia Burtsova, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and Artem Sorochynskyi, Director of the Kramatorsk Center for Vocational and Technical Education, welcomed the participants and wished them a successful start.
The high standard of the competition and independent evaluation was ensured by a competent jury, which included leading engineers and chief welders from major companies in the industry: Oleksandr Deineha, Ihor Chernysh, and Yuriy Shishkov.
After the draw and safety briefing, the contestants demonstrated a high level of professional skill while performing practical modules in manual arc welding with a coated electrode and semi-automatic arc welding in a shielding gas environment.
A panel of expert judges evaluated the work performed according to clear international criteria, noting the high level of skill demonstrated by each participant.
The event concluded with the announcement of the winners, the presentation of certificates and commemorative gifts, opening up new career growth opportunities for the young professionals.
