Thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Kyiv Regional State Administration, and the Kyiv Regional Council, the center has received a new facility in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. The premises cover nearly 1,200 square meters, allowing specialists to operate at full capacity.

Together with Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Serhii Tymofieiev, Acting Head of the Kyiv Regional Council Yaroslav Dobrianskyi, and representatives of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, officials visited the center and spoke with medical staff and athletes.

The team of the Donetsk Regional Center of Sports Medicine, with a history of nearly 80 years, has been forced to rebuild its work for the second time in the past decade due to Russian aggression.

The revival of the relocated center proves that, despite the war, Donetsk region remains the sporting heart of Ukraine.

Ukrainian athletes continue to win gold medals on the world stage, and it is essential to provide them with a reliable support system.

Despite extremely difficult wartime conditions, in 2025 the center’s doctors:

  • conducted medical examinations for over 2,600 athletes

  • provided nearly 20,000 medical services

  • ensured rehabilitation for veterans of sports and athletes with disabilities

Now, in the new facility, a full cycle of services has been restored — from laboratory diagnostics and specialized consultations to modern physiotherapy and telemedicine.

The best evacuated equipment has been relocated here so that every young athlete and member of Ukraine’s national teams can feel the support of their native Donetsk region, no matter where they are.

“I thank the staff of the sports medicine center. I am also grateful to Minister of Youth and Sports Matvii Bidnyi and our partners in the Kyiv region for their support in implementing this project.

We will definitely return home. But even on this difficult path, we are becoming stronger, more professional, and more united,” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
