From January 3 to 10, in the picturesque Carpathians, in the Skhidnytsia hromada, a Christmas chess camp for children from Donetsk region took place – an event that brought young chess players together around the game, lively communication and mutual support.
During the week, chess became not only an intellectual challenge, but also an important means of emotional recovery, developing self-confidence, and forming friendships. The training process was led by experienced coaches Oleksandr Martynkov and Olena Martynkova, who created a warm and friendly atmosphere where every child felt heard and supported.
Sixteen children from the Kramatorsk, Ocheretyne, Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka and Lyman communities participated in the camp. Among the participants were children of our defenders (military personnel and police officers), employees of the municipal institution “Kostiantynivka city center for physical health of the population “Sport for all” and also children of civil servants.
The camp program was rich and balanced: daily classes, intensive training and chess competitions were organically combined with integration activities. A special place was given to the “Friendship evening,” which helped the children get to know each other better, feel the team spirit and create warm memories that will warm their hearts for a long time to come.
