Finding a job for internally displaced persons often becomes a real challenge — it’s not only about employment, but also about finding housing, adapting to new conditions, and regaining a sense of belonging. That’s why employers like the Lamella Furniture Factory in the town of Tyachiv, Zakarpattia region, deserve special recognition. They not only create jobs but also help people rebuild their lives — with decent work, a roof over their heads, and a sense of care and stability.
Thanks to the active cooperation between the Donetsk Regional Employment Service and the factory’s management, dozens of internally displaced persons have already found both work and a new home there. The employer takes good care of its workers — providing housing, free meals, transportation to and from work, and on-the-job training. Entire families are employed at the factory, and people with disabilities also work there, as equal employment opportunities are a key principle of the company.
To help displaced persons learn more about the factory’s opportunities, on October 23 specialists from the Donetsk Regional Employment Service organized an employer presentation directly at the production site. The participants included visitors of the “Yednannia” (Unity) Humanitarian Hub in the city of Khust — displaced persons from Pokrovsk, Avdiivka, Vuhledar, and other communities of Donetsk region. They observed the production process, talked with the management and employees, and learned about working and living conditions.
A particularly touching moment was the story of Oleksandr, a combat veteran from Kramatorsk. In the spring, he came to Zakarpattia in search of work and support. Thanks to the employment service and the openness of the employer, he got a job at the factory, received housing, and later even found personal happiness — he got married. His story is the best proof that stable work and compassion can truly change lives.
During the meeting, the factory representatives expressed their gratitude to the Donetsk Employment Service for effective cooperation in recruitment and presented a letter of appreciation.
