A Job That Inspires: Vitaliia’s Employment Story from Lyman

Published 05 May 2026 year, 12:43

The story of Vitaliia Pasichnyk, a resident of resilient Lyman, shows that even after losing stability, it is possible to find work that brings back inner peace.

Before the full-scale invasion, Vitaliia worked for Ukrzaliznytsia in Lyman. Her profession was demanding and responsible — an electrical technician maintaining signaling and communication systems (4th grade). However, the war forced her to leave her hometown and seek shelter in Tiachevo, Zakarpattia region.

Vitaliia reviewed many job vacancies, but none felt right. The turning point came after a single call to the employment service hotline. Specialists not only provided консультацію, but truly understood her need for stability and a career change. They suggested she try working at the Lamella furniture factory.

Today, she has mastered a new profession — assembling wooden products. Working with natural materials and being surrounded by the scenic landscapes of Zakarpattia became a kind of therapy for her.

“After everything I’ve been through, here I finally felt peace. I was welcomed warmly, and many of my colleagues are also displaced from Donetsk region, so we understand each other without words. The team is wonderful, working conditions are достойні, but most importantly — the environment. The nature here is incredible, the air is clean… It’s real stress relief! I feel like I’m in the right place again,” Vitaliia shares emotionally.

The factory’s management understands the needs of people who have lost their homes. The employer provides free accommodation, meals, and transportation to and from work. The company also ensures equal opportunities for people with disabilities and offers on-site training, helping new employees quickly acquire skills.
