"Reasonable accommodation" is always an individual solution that allows adapting the workplace to the specific needs of an employee with a disability. This approach takes into account the person's characteristics and the specifics of the job, providing maximum comfort and efficiency.
📄 The definition of this concept is provided in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified by Ukraine. According to Article 2 of the Convention:
“Reasonable accommodation means necessary and appropriate modifications and adjustments that do not impose a disproportionate or undue burden, where needed in a particular case, to ensure that persons with disabilities can enjoy or exercise on an equal basis with others all human rights and fundamental freedoms”.

This can include, for example, specially equipped workplaces, adapted furniture or equipment, assistive devices, additional safety and comfort measures.
Employers who have arranged a workplace for a person with a disability can receive compensation from the state. Necessary furniture, equipment, and other assistive devices can be purchased for the employee, and the state will reimburse their cost.
Under the program conditions, the amount of compensation from January 1, 2025, is:
up to 120,000 UAH — for arranging workplaces for persons with disabilities of group I; up to 80,000 UAH — for persons with disabilities of group II.
