Department and management leaders of the social and humanitarian block of the Donetsk Regional State Administration visited the Mirgorodkurort JSC. This is one of the leading sanatorium-resort complexes in Ukraine, which currently performs an important function — it is a modern center for medical rehabilitation and social adaptation for war veterans and their family members.
During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the provision of sanatorium-resort treatment services, social recovery, and social adaptation services for our Defenders.
Since 2014, a department for "Medical and Psychological Rehabilitation of ATO Participants and Their Family Members" has been operating at the facility. And since 2023, a pilot project for social-psychological family recovery of veterans and their families has been implemented here, which has initiated a new social service — "Social Adaptation for War Veterans and Their Families."
For the current year, territorial communities of Donetsk region have allocated funding from local budgets for sanatorium-resort treatment services in the total amount of 17.1 million UAH. This will enable the treatment and rehabilitation of 665 people among war veterans, their family members, as well as the families of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine. Already, 14 people have taken advantage of this opportunity, receiving services worth almost 237.1 thousand UAH.
Local programs also provide for 4.4 million UAH for the provision of social adaptation services for military personnel and their families. Thanks to this, about 240 people will be able to undergo the necessary adaptation and receive additional support.
The Donetsk Regional State Administration continues to provide systematic assistance to veterans: from medical and psychological rehabilitation to social support and recovery. Such comprehensive support is not only a manifestation of gratitude but also a necessary step for the reintegration of our Defenders into full-fledged life.
