How can one stay grounded in a world that changes by the minute? High school students sought answers to these questions during the online event “Me and My Future Career: How to Choose Your Path in a World of Opportunities.”
The event was held as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”
The following institutions participated in the event:
- Sartana Lyceum of the Sartana Settlement Community,
- Hushcha Lyceum and Polapiv Lyceum of the Rivne Rural Community,
- Velykokuchurivska, Tysovetska, and Hodilivska Schools of the Velykokuchurivska Community.
Kateryna Kukuruza, a practical psychologist at the Sartana Lyceum, and Tetiana Khadzhinova, a social educator at the Sartana Lyceum, helped participants explore practical tools for a confident career start.
Attendees learned which soft skills are most valued today. They analyzed the effective “I want – I can – I need” framework.
They discussed how to avoid falling into the trap of “prestigious” professions or choosing a career “just to fit in.” They took a mini-test using Klimov’s methodology and identified their professional aptitudes. They also learned about proven online platforms for further self-discovery.
And most importantly, everyone understood! Choosing a profession isn’t just a decision about a job; it’s a choice of lifestyle. It’s important to listen to yourself, not just trends.
