Published 11 November 2025 year, 18:00

"Veteran Sports" is a state initiative from the Ministry of Veterans Affairs in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, which offers veterans quarterly financial support — 1,500 UAH for sports activities in sports facilities (gyms, swimming pools, clubs, active recreation centers).

Registration for the program opens for the first 20 days of each new quarter.

How to use the program?

  • The program is available through the Veteran PRO digital service in Diya. To apply, you need to:
  • Install or update the Diya app
  • Open the "Veteran PRO" tab in the "Services" section

Who can participate?

  • Ukrainian citizens
  • Possession of a tax identification number (TIN)
  • Status as a combatant and/or person with a war-related disability.

Why do veterans need sports?

  • Recovery from wounds and injuries
  • Reduction of stress and anxiety
  • Building new social connections
  • Routine and motivation

Where does the money go?

To receive the funds, you need to open a Dія Card at a bank participating in the program. After submitting your application, the funds will be transferred automatically.

If you have already participated in the program, you do not need to reapply — the payment will be automatic.

Where can I exercise?

The money received can be spent at any establishment with one of the following merchant category codes (MCC):

  • 7941 — physical culture and sports
  • 7997 — sports or country clubs

The list of establishments participating in the program is available here.

  • It is important to note that the monetary compensation must be used by the end of the quarter in which it was accrued.
  • If none of the funds are spent, they will be returned to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, participation in the program will be terminated, and a new application must be submitted.
  • If it has been partially spent, the balance is returned, but participation is retained, and it is accrued again in the next quarter.

The Veteran Sports program is implemented by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in conjunction with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine in accordance with the Veteran Policy Strategy and the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine, developed at the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska.

The information campaign "Opportunities for Veterans" is being implemented within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Reintegration Program, which is being implemented by IREX with the support of the US State Department.
