The most pressing issues of frontline communities were discussed during a thematic roundtable titled “Frontline Communities: Challenges, Solutions, Future.”

The discussion was attended by First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniyenko, Co-chair of the Interfactional Parliamentary Association “Frontline Territories” Mykhailo Ananchenko, as well as representatives of state authorities and local self-government bodies.

According to estimates, there are currently about 240 communities in Ukraine located near the front line.

“Here in Donetsk region, like our colleagues in Luhansk, we unfortunately know well what war is, what the front is, and what it means to live close to active hostilities. We have 12 years of experience working under such conditions, and this experience will be valuable for other regions that also faced war in 2022,”— noted Vadym Filashkin.

The participants emphasized the need for better coordination between local governments, military administrations, the Cabinet of Ministers, and Parliament, and discussed management and legislative solutions to strengthen the resilience of frontline communities.

It was a productive and meaningful discussion that will have practical outcomes.
