Computed tomography (CT) is a diagnostic service covered under the Medical Guarantees Program. If a patient has the appropriate referral, they can undergo a CT scan free of charge, as the National Health Service reimburses providers for both outpatient and inpatient CT diagnostic procedures.
Important! Healthcare facilities operating under contract with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NSZU) must organize CT scans in accordance with their capacity. The terms of the contract stipulate a minimum volume based on the specifications of Package No. 9—8 patients per working day, calculated per diagnostic device for the “Computed Tomography” class. The provider must also ensure that patients can schedule appointments for examinations both through the electronic system and by phone. Up-to-date information on the list of services, physicians, and their schedules must be available on the healthcare facility’s website. Patients must undergo the necessary examinations on time and without artificial barriers to scheduling.
Reminder to patients
Services under the Medical Guarantees Program for CT scans, including those with contrast, are free of charge and include the provision of necessary medications and medical devices to patients.
