In the event of an insured incident, the Pension Fund of Ukraine provides compensation for harm caused to an employee as a result of a workplace accident and/or an occupational disease, or, in the event of the employee's death, to individuals who are legally entitled to receive such compensation.
Under the Law of Ukraine No. 1105-XIV of September 23, 1999, "On Compulsory State Social Insurance," the following types of insurance benefits are available to compensate for harm caused by a workplace accident or occupational disease:
Temporary disability benefits;
Lump-sum compensation in the event of permanent loss of professional capacity;
Monthly insurance benefits;
Compensation payments when transferred to lighter, lower-paid work;
Monthly payments to a child born with a disability as a result of the mother's workplace injury or occupational disease during pregnancy;
Insurance benefits for dependent family members in the event of the injured person's death.
