To celebrate Vyshyvanka Day, students from the Lyman and Tyachiv communities came together for an online expedition titled “Code of Identity: East and West.”
The event took place on the Google Meet platform with the participation of students and teachers from Lyman Lyceum No. 2 in Donetsk Oblast, the Tyachiv branch of Tyachiv Lyceum No. 1, and the Okhrulya branch of Laziv Lyceum in Zakarpattia.
During the meeting, participants sang the National Anthem of Ukraine and observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of the defenders and civilians who died as a result of the war.
The students learned about the regional characteristics of Ukrainian embroidery, discovered more about the traditions of eastern and western Ukraine, and participated in themed exercises and interactive activities.
A special part of the event was the creation of unique patterns using a digital design tool. The children encoded their own dreams and wishes for Ukraine into the patterns, after which all the works were combined on the Padlet online board into a large virtual canvas—a shared digital Towel of Ukrainian Unity.
The event served as an example of how modern technologies help young people preserve and promote Ukrainian traditions, strengthen ties between regions, and shape a shared cultural space.
