As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” a joint online event was held, bringing together students from the Siverskyi Regional Educational Center and children from the Ecology and Nature Center for Children’s Creativity in the Olhopil community.
The event aimed to highlight the relevance of environmental issues for the preservation of the planet and to raise awareness of the importance of each individual’s personal responsibility for protecting the environment.
The interactive portion of the event focused on determining one’s own ecological footprint. Participants completed an online survey, analyzed the results, and learned how many “planets” are needed to sustain their lifestyle. The discussion led to the conclusion that it is time to move from words to concrete actions.
Therefore, the presentation of environmental initiatives was particularly interesting. Event participants presented their own environmental campaigns, shared experiences and ideas regarding waste sorting, energy conservation, greening of areas, and organizing eco-campaigns.
During the “Sorting Correctly” workshop, participants tested their knowledge through an interactive game, which helped reinforce their skills in proper waste management.
