As part of the national project "Side by Side: Cohesive Communities," a creative workshop "Library as a Space of Peace" was held, which became a symbol of unity and friendship. The event brought together participants from different parts of Ukraine: Siverska, Mukachevo and Onokivska communities.
The library is not only a home for books, but also an island of peace, trust and bright ideas. It is here that dreams, inspiration and good deeds that can unite people are born.
In the first block, "Peace for me is...", participants shared their associations and thoughts about peace, creating a symbolic cloud of words. Peace was seen as a gentle morning, children's laughter, hugs from family members, quiet work and hope for a happy future.
The second block "Reading about Peace" was a literary break. Friends from the Mukachevo library and the library hub of the Onokivska community presented sincere lines from children's books and poetry that spoke of kindness, friendship and mutual respect. They filled the event with warmth and light. Children and young people from the Siverska community, the heart of Donetsk Oblast, which today is particularly committed to peace and unity for the whole country, also added their voice.
The meeting culminated in the creation of a collective Tale of Peace. Participants from all three communities joined in the joint creation: in a chat room, they added their own characters, events, and symbols that represent goodness and light. This is how a single fairy tale was born, in which the dreams of children and young people about a country where love, harmony and unity reign.
The creative workshop proved that distance is not an obstacle to unity, and when hearts are open to goodness, nothing is impossible. United communities strive for peace together!
