A word that unites: The communities of Velykonovosilkovska and Teplitsk honored the 155th anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka

Published 25 February 2026 year, 14:06

On February 25, an online literary and musical event entitled "Lesya Ukrainka: When Words Sound Like Music" was held to mark the 155th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poetess and Ukrainian Women's Day. The event brought together young people from the Velykonovosilkovska and Teplitsk communities as part of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities."

The online format allowed participants to join a shared cultural space where Ukrainian words, born of strength of spirit and love for the homeland, were heard.

During the meeting, young people discovered the life and creative path of Lesya Ukrainka, recited her poetry, and participated in an interactive online game called Kahoot, during which participants were able to test their knowledge of the writer's life and work. Through her lines, they once again felt resilience, dignity, and faith — values that are especially important for each of us today.

It is from Lesya Ukrainka that we draw the strength not to give up, the courage to think freely, and the responsibility for the future of our country.

Such joint events contribute to the unity of young people, the formation of national consciousness, and the strengthening of intercommunity cooperation, which is an important foundation for our stability and development.
