This was reported by the Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin.

On that day in 2014 in Donetsk, thousands of people took part in the third large-scale rally “For a United Ukraine.” They stood up for the country’s territorial integrity and the right to live in a free nation. The peaceful protest ended in tragedy: Dmytro Cherniavskyi was killed by pro-Russian militants. He became the first victim of Russian aggression in Donetsk region.

Today in Kyiv, together with the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, co-coordinator of the Donetsk Euromaidan Artur Shevtsov, members of the public, educators, veterans of the Russo-Ukrainian War, and young people held a memorial meeting titled “The Struggle for Ukraine. The Story of One Life.”

Participants spoke about the Donetsk Euromaidan, and especially moving were the memories of Dmytro — his courage, dignity, and devotion to Ukraine.

The event concluded with honoring the memory of the Heavenly Hundred.

Donetsk region, together with all of Ukraine, remembers the Hero who gave his life for the honor, dignity, and freedom of his people.
