On December 19-20, a round table and hearing of heads of regional physical culture and sports organizations were held in the city of Dnipro, during which the results of work in 2025 were summarized and the main directions of activity for 2026 were outlined.

The event was chaired by Volodymyr Mytsyk, head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, with the participation of department employees and heads of regional sports organizations.

As a result of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, 22 regional sports facilities and institutions were forced to relocate from the Donetsk region. Thanks to the timely evacuation of property and the coordinated work of the teams, these organizations continue to operate in various regions of Ukraine, creating conditions for displaced persons from Donetsk region to regularly engage in physical culture and sports. Special attention is paid to war veterans and military personnel who have been wounded and need physical and psychological rehabilitation through sports.

The task of the round table is to briefly present the work of municipal sports facilities and form a clear vision of development prospects. With the support of the Donetsk region leadership, athletes and coaches now have the right conditions to prepare for the most important competitions and fight for the highest awards.

At the Donetsk Regional Specialized Sports College named after Sergey Bubka, 98% of students are from Donetsk Oblast. Regional institutions continue to work primarily for the needs of Donetsk region residents.

"Each organization must prove its competitiveness at the national level through its daily work and demonstrate significant results. We are working for the benefit of Donetsk region and Ukraine as a whole," emphasized Volodymyr Mytsyk.

During the event, the head of the regional administration's department of physical culture and sports presented representatives of the sports community with awards for their high professionalism and dedication.

The heads of physical culture and sports organizations in Donetsk region shared the experience of their teams working in wartime conditions and talked about the locations where coaches, teachers, doctors, and other specialists are currently working with internally displaced persons. The history of each municipal sports facility is an example of resilience, fortitude, patriotism, and daily work for the sake of new achievements for the glory of Ukraine. Despite all the challenges of today, sports life in Donetsk Oblast continues and is growing stronger, demonstrating effectiveness and steady development!
