The students of the powerlifting department of the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 1 of the Bakhmut City Council now live in different cities of Ukraine, geographically separated but united by their team.

As part of the Side by Side: United Communities project, Kropyvnytskyi has become a place where athletes from Bakhmut can train systematically and prepare for the main events of the season.

The Kirovohrad Region Powerlifting Federation provided the training base. The Bakhmut athletes were given the opportunity to hold training camps free of charge, preserving the team and its sporting prospects.

At the Zirochka Children's and Youth Sports School in Kropyvnytskyi, athletes from Bakhmut prepared for the Ukrainian Powerlifting Championships for all age groups, where they won eight gold medals, ten bronze medals, and, most importantly, the right to participate in international competitions in 2026. They also met the standards for Master of Sports of Ukraine.

Ahead are the Ukrainian Bench Press and Classic Powerlifting Championships and the European Championships. Training continues. And with it, the effective partnership between communities is growing stronger.
