Every morning in Donetsk region is a test of strength. Plans for the future can turn into rubble on the asphalt in an instant. Yet, we do not know how to give up. Where the enemy leaves destruction, the participants of the “Recovery Army” step in. Through their work, they help communities breathe again. These are not just workers — they are neighbors, friends, fellow residents. Many of them have lost their jobs or homes because of the war, but instead of despair, they chose action.

Every day, they clear debris, cover damaged windows and roofs, clean the streets, and turn chaos into order — step by step healing the wounds of their communities.

“We’re not just clearing debris. We’re removing the consequences of war so that life can go on,” says Oleksii, one of the project participants.

Recovery is the result of coordinated efforts between the employment service and local authorities, turning into real help in the shortest possible time. The results speak for themselves:

  • 2,100+ referrals to socially useful work have been issued in Donetsk region since the beginning of the year
  • Hundreds of homes saved and territories restored

Together, we will rebuild. Step by step. Person by person.
