Vinnytsia hosted the EdUP Welding Cup 2026, a nationwide professional skills competition for future welders. The event brought together 26 of the strongest students from vocational schools across the country, who competed for three days for the title of best in the profession.
The competition was held as part of the Public-Private Partnership for Improving Vocational Education in Ukraine project, supported by the Swiss government and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The competition program included theoretical testing, practical work on modern equipment, and a creative stage with the presentation of original products.
The Donetsk region was represented at the competition by Mykhailo Levchenko, a third-year student at the Kramatorsk Higher Professional Trade and Culinary School.
The participant chose two welding methods — manual arc welding and semi-automatic welding in protective gases — demonstrating high-quality welds, confident mastery of technologies, and thorough professional training. In intense competition, the representative of Donetsk region worthily presented the potential of vocational education in our region.
Such competitions are a real opportunity for young people to reach a new professional level. They show that blue-collar professions are modern and promising today, and close cooperation between educational institutions and business helps our graduates find their place in the labor market faster and become sought-after specialists.
