Students from the Bakhmut community, who were evacuated to Poltava due to the war, took part in an exciting city-wide scavenger hunt titled “Poltava: The Vibe of Galushky and Rock ’n’ Roll,” dedicated to City Day.
The event was organized by the Youth Policy Division of the Poltava City Council’s Department of Culture and Youth, in collaboration with the Youth Council, as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”
For several hours, the scavenger hunt transformed the familiar streets of Poltava into a big, lively conversation filled with clues, codes, and a host of discoveries. Teams from Poltava and Bakhmut joined forces to search for answers to the questions together.
For the young people from Bakhmut, this was a great opportunity to get to know their partner community—which has become their new home—better and to make friends. Each team discovered the history and secrets of Poltava from a completely new and unexpected perspective. The youth from both communities found common ground, and this is the best foundation for future projects.
Poltava turned out to be incredibly beautiful—not just in photos, but in every detail the young people noticed together. When communities come together, borders disappear, and cities grow closer.
