Svitlana Fomenko firmly holds the cultural front and promotes the native word.

Published 27 June 2025 year, 14:10

On June 28, 2025, it will be 29 years since the Constitution of Ukraine was adopted. This year, we will once again celebrate the state holiday in the conditions of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Despite the horrors of war, life in Donetsk region continues: children continue to receive education, residents of the region have access to medical and social services, and conditions are being created for the development of creative abilities, etc.

On the occasion of Constitution Day of Ukraine, the regional state administration has launched a regional campaign "The Constitution of Ukraine through the Prism of War." The stories of the residents of Donetsk region once again prove that even in a state of war, the commitment to constitutional principles is important for the Ukrainian state – the affirmation of human rights and freedoms, compliance with universal and European values, which the Ukrainian people bravely defend in modern conditions, protecting freedom, territorial integrity, independence, and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Article 34. Everyone is guaranteed the right to freedom of thought and speech, to freely express their views and beliefs.

Svetlana Fomenko is the winner of the regional competition "Woman of Donetsk Region" in the nomination "Cultural Discovery of the Year" - 2023! She is a poetess who celebrates her native Khlobodarska rural territorial community and its people in her literary work. The director of the Vilne rural cultural center, co-founder of the public organization "Time of the Free," and nominee of the regional competition "Young Person of the Year" in the nomination "Heart Devoted to Donetsk Region" in 2024 – these are also stages of her professional growth and public activity.

For over 13 years, Svetlana has been working in the field of culture and youth policy, promoting the Ukrainian language and culture, and fighting stereotypes about Russified people in Donetsk region. Svetlana's students, like herself, are winners of international, national, and regional competitions in recitation and vocals.

After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, Svetlana, along with her family and artists from the Vilne cultural center, stood guard over the cultural direction. She creates video clips of songs and her own patriotic poems, social videos to support the defenders of Ukraine. She conducts live broadcasts on Facebook and Instagram, where she reads her poetry to all present. Creative videos and recordings of live performances by Svetlana gain hundreds, and sometimes even thousands, of views and dozens of positive comments on social media.

She has published 2 collections of poetry "Time of the Free" and "Different War." In 2023, together with her colleague Hryhoriy Andreichenko, she created the band "Free," which has more than 10 original songs and music videos.

Together with her family, Svetlana Fomenko is a member of the band "Vilne Musicians." The band also writes original songs, promotes the cultural heritage and musical traditions of the village of Vilne in the Volnovakha district.

Svetlana continues to firmly hold the cultural direction of the Khlobodarska rural territorial community and Donetsk region as a whole and makes a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture during wartime.

Donetsk region is proud of its cultural masters! We believe that with each passing year, despite all the challenges of wartime, there will be even more opportunities to discover the cultural talents of our region and support them.
